The To-Done List
Monday ( first day at the "homestead" with everyone back to work)

1)  Took the new truck in to get estimate for front quarter panel damage.  $930 quote.  called 3 Calgary auto bodies...  quote is fair and timely!  unlike what I will find back in the city.  Crap.    Hubby looking into pick-a-part options.

2) Phoned School regarding Boy's extended absence.  Spoke with vice principal and talked him off the ledge from the MORONIC receptionists extremist message that he intercepted to the teacher.
Had gr2 and gr6 curriculum manuals printed off at the office, hole punched and sent back to the " homestead".
started the boys on daily journals and writing assignments.
Hit Staples and Walmart for workbooks to supplement the POTENTIALLY less than complete educational materials that will be faxed out to us here in the Hicks from the teachers.
Printed off spelling lists for gr 1 - 6 plus top 200 & top 1000 most frequently used words to start working on.
Spent time with boys and was HORRRRIFIED to read what level of work they ARE working on.   I need to start working closer with them and pushing some higher expectations!!!!   "  If u r wonderin why we are hear its for my aunties weding.   I have bin playing a new comp game called pieraets.  W8, I think I spelt that wrong.  Pearits.  Nope, still not rite."   YES!!! that was an honest to god sentance in my Gr 6's journal today!   That and the statement " my hand is hearting from writing".    Good LORD my brain is "Hearting" at that !!!  time to step up the parental involvement!

3) Phoned around to regional ( with in 2 hour driving range)  health food stores and grocers in search of Glutino brand wheat free breads and products.   NOTHING.  2 types of "breads" that are less than palletable. Sighs.  Started researching the web site for online purchases.   For now will have hubby and sister bring it out with them in addition to my trips out here.

4) Roast Ham supper, cream corn, rice and chocolate cake for dessert.  7 adults and 4 kids.. ( plus one baby who still eats food with both hands shoving it happily into her mouth WITH the hands going in too while making NOM NOM NOM noises)

5)  Spoke to Mother in Law.   sighs. ...  anyhow.. moving on.

6)  Began taking notes on Wedding Prep for the house.  Sorting and reviewing items with Mother.

7)  Potty training of the gabe is not going well!!!! I lost my temper today and whipped out the Guilt like no one's business.  He is back in " diapers"  ( pullups) and will be losing the right to be like his brother and everyone else ( except the baby) and wear underwear.  This seemed to finally get through to him.  We will see how it goes.  till then... I am just not going to keep fighting the nausea over body function clean up!

It is now 11pm.  the kids are watching an old james bond flick ( Diamonds are forever)  because, like me, they are unsettled and their brains going too fast.   Will be working on getting better set up tommorrow for "school" routines.  i have not even gotten to my own journal... or my own daytimer even to get started on stuff I wanted to do today.  Let's hope tommorrow is calmer.  time for tea, calm music... and a stolen half hour for me before falling into bed for sleep like the dead.  I SWEAR tommorrow is Bath night... ( dreamy sigh with thoughts of the Tub of Glory!!!)
